The contest Scout Merit was created with the purpose of
reward the best sites about scouting on the world wide web, the Internet.
Initially, this contest was idealized by Jairo Rodrigo
Tomaszewski in the year of 2000, who felt, due to the fast growth of sites about
scouting on the Internet and due the lack of a specific award with total
dedication, the need of recognition of the countless sites on this subject.
In 2001, 200 websites participated of the
contest in almost 20 countries. And in 2002, the number was 280 websites
of 28 countries. Take a look in the winners.
In 2002 this contest had the
collaboration of many people around the world, who were: Brad Pearsall, Carlos Cavalcante,
Celso Correia Neves,
Esterline Gonçalves Género, Luciano Trindade, Marcos Takeshi kojima,
Paulo R. Silvestro, Phil Gardner, Ricardo Videira e Hugo Gabriel Monteiro de Figueiredo.
The scouting is not for the adult,
it is for the youth.
