General informations

    The award Scout Merit is separated in two stages. Monthly, between April and September of 2003, it will be chosen  the best sites in the following categories: 

 

Popular Category

    The voting begins in the first day of each month and ends in the last day of each month.The more voted will receive the award in the category Popular.

    If a site has already been a winner in a previous month in this category,  the winner will be the following more voted. However, a site can be chosen as the best in other categories even if it has been chosen as the best in this category in any month.

    Each user will be able to vote once a day in each site.

 

Portuguese Language Category

     In this category will be participating the websites written in Portuguese language. They will be chosen by the Scout Merit evaluators in agreement with the criteria of the contest.

 

English Language Category

     In this category will be participating the websites written in English language. They will be chosen by the  Scout Merit evaluators in agreement with the criteria of the contest.

 

Foreign Language Category

     In this category will be participating the websites that are not written either in Portuguese or English language. They will be chosen by the Scout Merit evaluators in agreement with the criteria of the contest.

 

Finals

    In October and November of 2003 will happen the great final among all monthly winners.

 

Website application

    Any site that has scounting content or any other organization with purposes similar to the scouting can apply for the award Scout Merit.

 

Member's logo

    The members must use one of the logos of the contest in your main page or another page related to awards or contests. In case the participant doesn't use one of the logos, he neither won't have your website evaluated nor can receive any award of this contest.

   When the website application be accepted, the webmaster will receive a identity number (Id) that must be placed close to the hyperlink to the Scout Merit page, as in the model: https://members.tripod.com/smen01/?id=900999, put your Id in the place of the number 900999. You also can discover your Id at the logos' page.

 

Evaluations

    The evaluations are divided in two stages. First, each evaluator will indicate between 5 and 10 websites written in Portuguese Language, between 5 and 10 websites written in English Language and between 5 and 10 websites written in Foreign Language. In the second stage, the 5 websites more indicated in each category will be evaluate in full  detail, in agreement with the criteria of the contest. The ones that obtain the best average in each category will be the winners.

 

Criteria The criteria and the weights used by the juddes are the following: Content: 35% Position in the month: 10% Originality and creativity: 20% Presentation and harmony: 15% Functionality, navigability and Interactivity: 20%             The item "Position in the month" will have the following pontuation, considering 100 (a hundred ) the best pontuation. Top Sites

Award Sites evaluates the sites of awards and classifies them. The best sites receive " Level 5. 0". We began receiving " Level 3.0 ", now we already  received "Level 3. 5".
